Materials

We have processed all types of materials using our waterjet cutting technology, from stainless steel to aluminum, to plastic and foam, and on and on. In fact, there are far too many materials to list. If you have any questions, or would like to see how your type material or application responds to waterjet cutting, give us a call or drop us an e-mail. We probably have already cut the material before.

With regards to thickness, because it is an erosion-based cutting method, there are no limitations. The thickest plate we have cut was a 16.25” thick, carbon steel die mold. With our equipment, we are set-up to handle large and oversized, thick and heavy plates. We also have a 1500# vacuum lift to handle glass and scratch free material.

Some of the more common types of material we have processed are:

Items that cannot be cut using waterjet cutting technology are:

  • tempered glass
  • cubic boron nitride (CBN)
  • composite carbides

Some materials we don’t cut because of personal hazard concerns, or that are potentially environmentally unsafe are:

  • beryllium copper
  • lead sheet
  • magnesium plate or sheet
