Food processing equipment manufacturers have preferred waterjet cutting to other methods because of the ease of machineability after cutting. No slag or heat affected zones, make for easy post-machining and fabrication for flanges, orifice plates, tube sheets and many other products. In some cases, waterjet cutting net-shape parts to close tolerances can be used directly in the final components without additional machining.
